Our client, Martu Waru Pty Ltd, is a proudly Indigenous-led Western Australian company providing building, construction, maintenance, civil, fabrication and electrical services across metropolitan, regional and remote Western Australia.
Due to continued growth, our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Glazier to join their team in Port Hedland, Western Australia.
About the Role
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a range of glass and glazing installation, fabrication and maintenance activities across the Pilbara and regional Western Australia. The role requires strong attention to detail, quality workmanship and a commitment to safe and efficient work practices.
Key Responsibilities
• Assess project requirements and determine the appropriate type, size and specifications of glass and glazing materials required.
• Prepare glass for cutting and installation by positioning materials accurately and working from templates, patterns and measurements.
• Measure, mark and cut glass to specified dimensions using appropriate cutting tools and techniques.
• Inspect glass for imperfections, defects or damage and identify areas requiring adjustment or removal.
• Accurately cut and shape glass according to plans, templates and project requirements.
• Handle and separate cut glass safely using appropriate hand tools and equipment.
• Install glass and mirrors in windows, doors, skylights, display cases, interior walls, ceilings and other building applications.
• Finish and smooth glass edges using suitable sanding, grinding and polishing equipment.
• Carry out glazing work for commercial, residential, government, mining and maintenance projects as required.
• Apply, cut, etch, trim or otherwise process glass to achieve required finishes and designs where applicable.
• Measure and inspect completed installations to ensure correct fit, alignment, finish and compliance with project specifications.
• Safely handle, transport and store glass, glazing materials, tools and equipment.
• Carry out repairs, replacements and maintenance to existing glass installations and fixtures.
• Work collaboratively with supervisors, tradespeople, clients and other project personnel.
• Complete required job documentation and maintain accurate work records.
• Ensure all work is undertaken safely, efficiently and in accordance with relevant standards, specifications and workplace procedures.
Essential Requirements
• Certificate III in Glass and Glazing (MSF30422) or equivalent relevant trade qualification.
• At least three years of relevant glazing experience.
• Current Construction White Card.
• Current Australian Driver's Licence, with Manual preferred.
• Demonstrated experience in measuring, cutting, finishing and installing glass and glazing products.
• Ability to safely handle glass and operate relevant cutting, grinding, sanding and glazing equipment.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening.
• National Police Clearance or willingness to obtain one.
• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
• Working at Heights certification.
• Confined Space certification.
• Elevated Work Platform (EWP) Licence.
• First Aid Certificate.
• HR Driver's Licence.
• Previous experience working on mining, government, commercial or remote construction projects.
• Experience with commercial glazing, shopfronts, windows, doors, mirrors and architectural glass installations.
This position is open to Australian citizens, permanent residents and candidates who are currently onshore in Australia with valid work rights.
