Our client, Martu Waru Pty Ltd, is a proudly Indigenous-led Western Australian company providing building, construction, maintenance, civil, fabrication and electrical services across metropolitan, regional and remote Western Australia.

Due to continued growth, our client is seeking an experienced and motivated Concreter to join their team in Port Hedland, Western Australia.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out a range of concreting, construction and maintenance activities across the Pilbara and regional Western Australia. The role requires a strong focus on quality workmanship, safety, efficiency and compliance with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Erect concrete formwork and install steel reinforcing in accordance with construction plans and specifications.

• Prepare work areas and ensure formwork and reinforcement are correctly positioned before concrete placement.

• Pour, spread and level concrete using screeds, templates and appropriate hand tools.

• Tamp, smooth, shape and seal concrete to achieve the required finish.

• Operate trowelling machines to float, trowel and polish concrete surfaces.

• Form expansion joints and edges using edging tools, jointers, straight edges and other appropriate equipment.

• Install fixtures into concrete, including anchor bolts, steel plates, door sills and other embedded components.

• Wet concrete surfaces and use abrasives to rub and finish vertical surfaces.

• Cover freshly poured concrete with plastic sheeting, sand or other suitable materials to assist with curing.

• Cut lines and joints into concrete using power cutters and appropriate equipment.

• Apply colouring powders and other finishing materials to freshly poured concrete where required.

• Carry out repairs, maintenance and finishing works to existing concrete structures and surfaces.

• Check measurements, levels, alignment and dimensions to ensure completed work meets project specifications.

• Safely operate and maintain concreting tools, machinery and equipment.

• Work collaboratively with supervisors, tradespeople, clients and other project personnel.

• Complete required job documentation and maintain accurate work records.

• Ensure all work is undertaken safely, efficiently and in accordance with relevant standards, specifications and workplace procedures.

Essential Requirements

• Relevant trade qualification in Concreting or equivalent relevant qualification.

• At least three years of relevant concreting experience.

• Current Construction White Card.

• Current Australian Driver's Licence, with Manual preferred.

• Experience in concrete formwork, steel reinforcement, concrete placement and finishing.

• Ability to safely operate concreting tools, equipment and machinery.

• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening.

• National Police Clearance or willingness to obtain one.

• Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Good communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

• Working at Heights certification.

• Confined Space certification.

• Elevated Work Platform (EWP) Licence.

• First Aid Certificate.

• HR Driver's Licence.

• Previous experience working on mining, government, commercial or remote construction projects.

• Experience operating concrete finishing and trowelling equipment.
