About the Role

We are seeking Skilled Horticultural Workers to undertake horticultural operations across commercial orchards and other horticultural sites in South Australia.

The positions involve practical horticultural work as part of D & J Estate's operational teams under the direction of horticultural supervisors and management. Work will include a range of crop care, orchard maintenance, harvesting and seasonal horticultural activities.

Key Responsibilities

Undertake pruning, thinning, training and other crop maintenance activities.

Perform orchard maintenance and general crop care activities.

Undertake harvesting, picking and associated crop-handling activities.

Assist with irrigation and other horticultural production activities as directed.

Identify and report crop, pest, disease, irrigation or operational issues to supervisors.

Use horticultural tools and equipment safely and appropriately.

Follow work instructions and horticultural operating procedures.

Maintain productivity and work quality in accordance with operational requirements.

Follow workplace health and safety requirements and safe work practices.

Work effectively as part of a supervised horticultural operations team.

Skills and Experience

Previous experience in commercial horticultural, orchard, crop production or related agricultural operations is desirable.

Practical knowledge of horticultural activities such as pruning, thinning, crop care and harvesting is desirable.

Ability to undertake physical outdoor work in varying weather conditions.

Ability to use horticultural tools and equipment safely and effectively.

Ability to follow instructions and work safely and productively as part of a team.

Reliable, punctual and able to meet operational work requirements.

Ability to travel to operational sites as required.

Employment

Permanent, full-time positions based in South Australia, with work undertaken across operational horticultural sites.

Salary

$70,000 - $75,000 per annum plus superannuation.
