About the Role
We are seeking an Agricultural Consultant to provide technical agricultural advice, production planning and operational support across our vineyard, horticultural and agricultural operations in South Australia.
The position will assess agricultural production requirements, provide practical and technical advice, assist with crop and production planning, monitor operational outcomes and support the effective delivery of contracted agricultural work programs.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical and practical advice on vineyard, horticultural and agricultural production.
Assess crop conditions, production requirements and operational issues and recommend appropriate actions.
Assist with crop planning, seasonal production programs and agricultural work programs.
Advise on soil, irrigation, crop nutrition, pest and disease management and other production requirements.
Monitor crop performance, agricultural practices and operational outcomes.
Identify opportunities to improve productivity, crop quality and operational efficiency.
Assist management and operational personnel with implementation of agricultural recommendations.
Prepare and maintain technical, production and operational records and reports.
Liaise with management, clients, supervisors and other operational personnel regarding agricultural requirements and work programs.
Support safe, sustainable and effective agricultural practices across operational sites.
Skills and Experience
Relevant tertiary qualification in agriculture, agricultural science, agronomy, horticulture or a related discipline.
Relevant experience in agricultural, vineyard, horticultural or crop production environments.
Sound knowledge of crop production, soil management, irrigation, plant nutrition, pest and disease management and agricultural practices.
Ability to assess agricultural production issues and provide practical, evidence-based recommendations.
Strong analytical, organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prepare technical records and reports and communicate recommendations effectively.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively with management and operational teams.
A current valid Australian driver's licence is required due to regular travel between operational sites.
Employment
Permanent, full-time position based in South Australia, with regular travel between operational sites.
Salary
$80,000 to $90,000 per annum plus superannuation, depending on qualifications and experience.
