About the Role
We are seeking a Vineyard Supervisor to coordinate and supervise vineyard operations across commercial vineyard sites in South Australia.
The position will assist with the planning and delivery of vineyard work programs, supervise employees undertaking vineyard activities, monitor work quality and crop conditions, coordinate operational resources and support the safe and efficient completion of contracted vineyard services.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and supervise vineyard work programs across operational sites.
Supervise employees undertaking pruning, canopy management, vine training, crop maintenance, harvesting and other seasonal vineyard activities.
Allocate daily work activities and monitor productivity, work quality and completion of assigned tasks.
Monitor vineyard and crop conditions and identify operational issues requiring attention.
Assist with the implementation of irrigation, vine nutrition, pest and disease management and other vineyard programs.
Coordinate equipment, tools and other operational resources required for vineyard activities.
Provide practical guidance and instruction to employees undertaking vineyard work.
Monitor workplace health and safety requirements and promote safe work practices.
Maintain operational records and report on work progress, crop conditions and service delivery.
Liaise with management, clients and other operational personnel regarding vineyard work programs and site requirements.
Skills and Experience
Relevant qualification in viticulture, horticulture, agriculture or a related field, or equivalent relevant industry experience.
Experience in commercial vineyard, viticultural or related agricultural operations.
Experience supervising or coordinating vineyard employees and work activities.
Practical knowledge of pruning, canopy management, vine training, crop maintenance, harvesting and seasonal vineyard operations.
Understanding of irrigation, vine nutrition, pest and disease management and vineyard production practices.
Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of an operational team.
A current valid Australian driver's licence is required due to regular travel between operational sites.
Employment
Permanent, full-time position based in South Australia, with regular travel between operational sites.
Salary
$80,000 to $85,000 per annum plus superannuation, depending on qualifications and experience.
