Barn & Co Barn & Co is seeking an experienced Chef to join our kitchen team and support the delivery of high-quality food across our à la carte dining, weddings, and event services. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and executing dishes in line with established recipes, food preparation methods, and quality standards. This role requires a skilled culinary professional who can work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining consistency, presentation, and food safety standards.

Task & responsibilities Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes, preparation methods, and presentation standards. Execute dishes across à la carte, wedding, and event services while maintaining consistency and quality. Maintain effective kitchen preparation, including mise en place, food organisation, and service readiness.

Ensure food quality, portion control, presentation standards, and timely service delivery. Assist with stock management including receiving, storing, labelling, and rotating ingredients from suppliers. Maintain compliance with food safety, hygiene, HACCP, and workplace health and safety requirements.

Work collaboratively with the Head Chef, kitchen team, and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service operations. Maintain a clean, organised, and professional kitchen environment. Qualification & experience Certificate III and/or Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent relevant experience.

Minimum 1–3 years’ experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen environment. Experience working in restaurants, cafés, hotels, or event catering environments. Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen operations.

Ability to prepare high-quality dishes while maintaining consistency and presentation standards. Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and HACCP requirements. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Strong communication skills and ability to work positively within a team.
