We are renowned for serving authentic North and South Indian cuisine prepared using traditional recipes, premium-quality ingredients, aromatic spices, and modern cooking techniques. Our extensive menu features a variety of curries, tandoori specialties, biryanis, vegetarian dishes, breads, and regional delicacies, catering to both dine-in and takeaway customers.

Operating seven days a week, we are committed to delivering exceptional food quality, consistency, and customer service. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Chef to join our busy kitchen and contribute to maintaining the high standards our customers have come to expect.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and cook a variety of Asian and Indian-inspired dishes, including stir-fries, soups, curries and specialty dishes, using appropriate traditional cooking techniques.

• Develop and update menus in consultation with management, considering seasonal ingredients, customer preferences, food quality and cost requirements.

• Plan and organise food preparation and cooking activities to ensure efficient kitchen operations and timely meal service.

• Monitor the quality, taste, texture and presentation of dishes throughout preparation and service.

• Inspect incoming food supplies for quality and freshness and ensure ingredients are stored appropriately in accordance with food safety requirements.

• Estimate food and labour requirements, manage stock levels and minimise food wastage through effective portion control and inventory practices.

• Supervise and train kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking techniques, recipes, hygiene practices and kitchen procedures.

• Coordinate with management, kitchen staff and front-of-house personnel to ensure smooth and timely food service.

• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements and maintain clean and organised kitchen areas.

• Prepare meals to accommodate customer dietary requirements and special requests while maintaining food quality and presentation standards.

• Demonstrate appropriate cooking techniques and provide guidance to kitchen staff to maintain consistency in food preparation and service.

• Review customer feedback and assist management with improvements to menu offerings, food quality and kitchen procedures.

To be successful in this role, it is essential you have:

• Hold a Certificate III or Certificate IV or an equivalent recognised qualification.

• Have at least one year of relevant experience working as a Chef in a professional commercial kitchen environment.

• Demonstrate strong leadership and team supervision skills, with the ability to train, guide and support kitchen staff.

• Demonstrate sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene, workplace health and safety, and applicable regulatory requirements.

• Possess the ability to maintain accurate kitchen records and documentation relating to food preparation, hygiene and operational requirements.
