Disability Support Worker

WE’RE HIRING – CASUAL DISABILITY SUPPORT WORKER (FEMALE ONLY)

Your Disability Support Team is looking for an experienced FEMALE , reliable and engaging Disability Support Worker to provide community-based support to a young adult participant.

Regular Rostered Shifts

• Wednesday 10am - 3pm , Thursday 9am - 3pm (every second week 9am - 3pm) Additional Fill-In Shifts, Tuesdays 9am - 5pm possible regular shift for the right person.

Supports include community access, scheduled activities, and allied health appointments.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Is FEMALE ONLY , in accordance with the parent’s preference for this support role

• Has at least 1 year of disability support experience

• Holds a Certificate III or higher in Individual Support/Disability or a relevant qualification

• Has experience supporting people with Down syndrome

• Is confident using AAC, visual supports and communication strategies

• Is reliable, patient, engaging and encourages independence

• Enjoys actively participating in community activities

• Is comfortable entering the pool and swimming with the participant during hydrotherapy and aquatic activities

• Wants to build a consistent and positive working relationship with the participant

Requirements include:

NDIS Worker Screening Check, National Police Clearance, First Aid, CPR, unrestricted Australian Driver’s Licence, reliable vehicle with comprehensive insurance, relevant qualifications and Australian working rights.

The role is expected to commence in late October. Buddy shifts and training will be provided prior to commencing regular shifts.
