About the Role
We are looking for compassionate, reliable and motivated Residential Care Officer to join our growing team.
you will provide person-centred support based on each participant's individual needs, preferences and goals. You will help participants maintain their independence, engage with their community and live their lives with greater choice and confidence.

You will work collaboratively with residents, families, carers, healthcare professionals and other service providers to ensure that individual needs are identified and appropriate care, education, training and support are provided.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide direct care, supervision and support to resident(s) in residential care, group housing and supported accommodation
environments.
• Support residents with their daily living activities and encourage independence, dignity, choice and participation.
• Assess and identify residents' individual needs, abilities, circumstances and support requirements.
• Participate in the development, implementation and review of individualised care, education, training and support programs.
• Provide practical assistance and guidance to residents in accordance with their individual support plans.
• Assist residents to develop and maintain daily living, social, communication and community participation skills.
• Support residents to access appropriate education, training, recreational, health and community services.
• Encourage residents to participate in social, recreational and community activities that promote wellbeing and independence.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, carers and relevant professionals regarding individual care and support needs.
• Observe residents' physical, emotional, behavioural and social wellbeing and identify changes or concerns requiring further attention.
• Monitor residents' participation, development and progress against individual goals and support plans.
• Maintain accurate and confidential client records, progress notes, incident reports and other required documentation.
• Report on the progress, changing needs and circumstances of residents to supervisors, managers and relevant professionals.
• Assist in identifying and addressing difficulties experienced by residents and refer matters to appropriate services or professionals when
required.
• Follow individual support plans, organisational policies, procedures, work health and safety requirements and relevant legislation.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, inclusive and supportive residential environment.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary care team and participate in case discussions, handovers and service planning.
• Protect residents' privacy, confidentiality, dignity and rights at all times.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies, incidents and changes in residents' circumstances in accordance with organisational procedures.

Essential Requirements
• Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability, Aged Care, Home and Community Care.
• Previous experience in disability, aged care, community services or a related field is highly regarded.
• Current NSW Driver Licence.
• Reliable vehicle with comprehensive motor vehicle insurance.
• Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain.
• Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain.
• National Police Check or willingness to obtain.
• Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module or willingness to complete.
• Smartphone with reliable internet access and ability to use rostering and workplace applications.
• Ability to meet applicable vaccination requirements for the role.
