Bar Attendant

Located on the waterfront in Cairns City QLD 4870, Vitalia’s Italian Restaurant is a welcoming Italian dining venue currently seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Bar Attendant to become part of their team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including cocktails, wine, beer, spirits, and soft drinks.

• Providing friendly, professional, and attentive service to customers throughout their dining experience.

• Taking beverage orders accurately and providing recommendations to customers when required.

• Preparing the bar area before service and ensuring it remains clean, organised, and well presented throughout each shift.

• Monitoring and replenishing bar stock, glassware, garnishes, and other supplies as required.

• Handling payments and operating point-of-sale systems accurately and efficiently.

• Ensuring responsible service of alcohol and compliance with relevant liquor licensing requirements and workplace procedures.

• Working closely with restaurant and kitchen staff to provide efficient and coordinated service.

• Maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and workplace health and safety within the bar and service areas.

About you:

• At least one year of relevant experience as a Bar Attendant or in a similar hospitality role.

• Good knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, including wine, beer, spirits, and cocktails.

• Strong customer service and communication skills.

• Ability to work efficiently in a busy restaurant environment.

• Good organisational skills and attention to detail.

• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a hospitality team.

• Professional presentation and a friendly, customer-focused approach.

• Knowledge of responsible service of alcohol requirements and relevant hospitality standards.

Job Type: Permanent/Full-time

Salary: $68,000 - $75,000 per annum
