We are currently seeking motivated and reliable individuals who can work as a Harvest Picker, Production Line Worker and Irrigation Farm Hand to work at our farm in Mataranka, NT. These roles are essential to the continued success of our farm operations and provide a great opportunity to work in a dynamic, outdoor environment.
You will work on a casual basis at Mataranka, NT.
Job Descriptions:
As an IRRIGATION FARM HAND, you will ensure the irrigation system is working at all times to ensure the crops are receiving sufficient water.
About the role:
• Turns irrigation systems on and off as designated
• Operate a RTV/Mule.
• Replaces or repairs irrigation valves.
• Commissioning of blocks.
• Regular pressure checks and fixing of leaks on blocks/mainlines.
• Installs or repairs of irrigation lines.
• Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
• Performing general labouring duties, such as landscaping, spraying (Knapsack) upkeep of pump sheds.
• Perform basic recording functions such as pesticide use and water levels.
• Provide assistance within the scope of this level to other employees as required.
• Perform daily pre-start checks.
• Clear and maintain irrigation ditches, as directed by supervisor.
• Assisting with minor repairs and maintenance of vehicles, assets, and equipment.
• Promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
• Participating in training programs to enhance skills and knowledge related to horticultural practices and safety procedures.
As a PRODUCTION LINE WORKER, you will assist in all-round stock controlling, picking, packing and quality assurance of produce.
About the role:
• Receiving incoming goods, checking for damage and for discrepancies between goods and packing orders.
• Unloading vehicles, opening packages, and removing contents.
• Labelling goods with details of storage location.
• Packing and weighing goods and sealing boxes.
• Assisting with regular stocktakes.
As a HARVEST PICKER, your role will include, but are not limited to:
• Picking fruit and vegetables according to size and ripeness by hand
• Discarding rotting and over-ripened produce following our quality standards
• Operating small tractors, when required
• Loading picked fresh produce into containers
• Digging and planting/transplanting seedlings by hand
To be successful in the role you will possess the following:
• Willingness to work in various weather conditions.
• Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour.
• Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment operation and maintenance.
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to farm-specific procedures and practices.
• Team player who can work effectively with people from different backgrounds.
• Awareness and ability to adhere to WHS requirements.
• Flexibility in hours worked to achieve operational targets, including weekends, overtime and public holidays.

Number of positions available: 5
Hours per week: 30 hours per week, Monday to Saturday
Commencement date: 1st October 2026 to 1st July 2027 (9 months)
Renumeration: Starting at Level 1 $32.01/hour. If you have previous experience or after 3 months of experience on the farm, you will progress to Level 2 $33.05/hour (Horticultural Award 2020).
