NEPEAN Power specialises in design and manufactures high quality electrical equipment. Our products can be found throughout the Australian and international mining, construction, and industrial sectors. NEPEAN Power is also level 3 Service Providers (ASP3) for designing distribution works in NSW.

We are currently offering a fantastic opportunity for Electroplaters to be based at our NSW Office. We offer full-time permanent employment and short-term 3-6 months' non-ongoing contracts with above-award pay rates fully guaranteed under current workplace regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Surface Preparation: Cleaning, degreasing, pickling, and etching metal parts to remove rust, scale, and oil, ensuring proper coating adhesion

Process Control: Setting up and operating plating machinery, including adjusting electrical currents (voltage/amperage), temperature, and immersion times

Chemical Management: Preparing, monitoring, and maintaining electrolytic solutions to the objects to be coated. Test and adjust plating solutions to maintain desired specifications

Quality Inspection: Inspecting finished products for defects (e.g., bubbles, uneven coverage) and measuring coating thickness using tools like micrometers

Equipment Maintenance: Cleaning tanks, maintaining hoists, and repairing machinery, such as replacing anodes or cleaning ventilation systems

Safety Compliance: Adhering strictly to health and safety regulations (PPE, chemical handling) due to exposure to hazardous materials and high temperatures

Required Qualifications, Skills, Knowledge, & Abilities:

Must have at least 3+ years of working experience in metal finishing or manufacturing environments

Relevant trade qualifications

Strong technical knowledge and understanding of metallurgy, chemical reactions, and corrosion protection

Knowledge of electroplating/ galvanising techniques and processes

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics

Physical ability to lift heavy metal products and operate machinery

Attention to Detail: Precision in monitoring, and inspecting to meet strict quality standards

Experience in maintaining electroplating/ galvanising equipment and troubleshooting issues

Strong knowledge of hazardous materials and safety equipment (respirators, protective clothing)

Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
