Position Overview:

Jaybee Bespoke Roofing – a Sydney-based roofing business delivering bespoke residential roofing solutions, with a focus on metal roofing, cladding, fascia and guttering, skylights, access hatches, custom flashing works and stormwater solutions.

As a Roof Tiler at Jaybee Bespoke Roofing, you will be responsible for preparing, installing, repairing and maintaining roof coverings to achieve durable, weatherproof finishes across residential roofing projects. This position requires strong technical roofing skills, attention to detail, safe work practices and a commitment to high-quality workmanship.

Responsibilities and Tasks:

• Study drawings, specifications and work sites to determine roofing materials, quantities and installation requirements for residential roofing projects.

• Prepare roof surfaces by setting out work areas and installing sarking, underlay and other weatherproofing materials before roof coverings are fixed.

• Measure, cut, shape and position roofing materials to fit accurately around roof edges, valleys, vents, skylights, access hatches, ridges and other penetrations.

• Align and securely fix roof tiles, sheets or shingles in accordance with project specifications and required weatherproofing standards.

• Install and finish edge, hip and ridge components, including bedding, pointing, flashing and sealing work required to prevent water penetration.

• Inspect existing roof coverings, battens, sarking and flashing for defects or damage, and repair or replace components where required.

• Coordinate roof covering work with Jaybee Bespoke Roofing’s custom flashing, fascia, guttering, cladding and stormwater works to achieve neat and weather-resistant roof interfaces.

• Carry out roof repairs, maintenance and leak rectification, identifying damaged or poorly sealed areas and completing appropriate remedial work.

• Set up and use ladders, access equipment and work-at-height systems safely, following workplace health and safety procedures throughout each project.

• Maintain clean and organised work areas, protect surrounding property, handle roofing materials carefully and complete assigned work to project schedules and quality expectations.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Relevant qualification.

• Minimum 1 year experience as a Roof Tiler

• Strong knowledge of roof preparation, roof covering installation, flashing, sealing and weatherproofing techniques.

• Ability to read and interpret plans, specifications and measurements and accurately cut and fit roofing materials.

• Sound understanding of working-at-heights requirements and safe use of roofing tools, ladders and access equipment.

• Strong attention to detail, reliability and the ability to work effectively as part of a roofing team.

Salary:

The role offers a remuneration package ranging from $75,000 – $85,000 p.a plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
