Position Title: Community Services and Trainer Assessor

Reporting to: Head of Training

Base Salary Range per annum: $80,000 - $90,000 per annum + 12 % Superannuation

Employment Basis: Full-time

Guaranteed Hours: 38 hours per week

Location: Level 1, 160 Central Arcade, 811 Hay Street, Perth WA 6000

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION

Provide support, information, advice and Training to clients on emotional, financial, recreational, health, housing and other social welfare matters, and evaluate and coordinate the services of welfare and community service agencies.

DUTIES AND RESPONSILITIES

1. Planning and Organising Course Content

1) Developing and preparing community services course curricula in line with vocational education requirements, ensuring the training meets industry standards and government regulations.

2) Adjusting training content to meet the needs of students with diverse learning needs and industry requirements.

2. Delivering CHC52021 Diploma of Community Services

1) Teaching students theoretical and practical knowledge related to community services.

2) Providing hands-on experience in applying community service principles through simulations, role-play, and case studies.

3. Supervising Practical Training

1)Organising and supervising workplace training and practical placements in real world settings such as community centres or social work environments.

2) Ensuring students achieve the competencies necessary for their work-based training.

4. Assessing Students

1) Assessing tasks required for CHC52021 to measure students’ understanding of community service concepts and practices.

2) Evaluating and providing feedback on students’ skills and knowledge, ensuring they meet the required competencies.

5. Monitoring and Reporting Student Progress

1) Keeping records of student attendance, assessment outcomes, and overall progress.

2) Providing regular feedback and guidance to students on how to improve their performance and assisting them with career planning.

6. Ensuring Compliance with Standards

1) Ensuring that the training programs adhere to the standards set by vocational education regulatory bodies, including ASQA (Australian Skills Quality Authority).

2) Keeping courses updated to reflect changes in policy, legislation, and best practices in community services.

7. Maintaining Industry Knowledge and Professional Development

1) Keeping up to date with developments in the community services sector, such as new regulations, service models, or emerging community needs.

2) Engaging in professional development activities to maintain and update qualifications in both teaching and community services.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

Essential:

Vocation Education related to community services

A bachelor’s degree related to community services

Post graduate degree in Adult Education

Desirable:

At least 1-2 years' work experience related to the nominated occupation

Relevant industry experience
