About the Position:

The Floor Finisher is a full-time role responsible for preparing flooring surfaces, installing carpet materials and completing finishing works in line with project specifications and company standards. This position is essential to the company’s daily operations, supporting ongoing residential and commercial projects across New South Wales and helping maintain installation quality, efficiency and service standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Review floor plans, measurements and installation requirements before commencing flooring works.

Measure installation areas accurately to calculate required flooring materials and minimise wastage.

Prepare subfloors and work areas for carpet installation activities.

Install carpet underlay and related flooring materials using appropriate installation techniques.

Cut and fit carpet materials around corners, edges, staircases, fixtures and doorway areas.

Join and secure carpet seams using heat bonding and flooring installation equipment.

Stretch and align carpet to achieve smooth and professional finishing outcomes.

Install edge trims and complete finishing details to project specifications.

Operate specialised flooring installation tools and equipment safely and effectively.

Inspect completed installations to ensure quality standards and client expectations are met.

Maintain safe work practices and comply with workplace health and safety procedures.

Coordinate with management and site personnel to ensure projects are completed within required timeframes.

Requirements:

Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply.

AQF Certificate III or higher qualification in a related field.

Minimum of 1 year experience in carpet laying and floor finishing works.

Knowledge of flooring preparation and carpet installation techniques, competent use of specialised flooring tools and equipment (including power stretcher, knee kicker, carpet iron and related tools), strong attention to detail, ability to interpret measurements and work independently on site, and effective communication and coordination skills.
