Are you an experienced landscape architect with a strong interest in technical design, documentation and project delivery?

Seeking a Landscape Architect or Senior Landscape Architect to join our Melbourne team. We welcome candidates with varying levels of experience and will determine the appropriate position based on each applicant’s technical capability, project experience and leadership skills.

The successful candidate will be passionate about achieving high-quality design outcomes and have a strong understanding of landscape construction, along with demonstrated experience in preparing high-quality documentation packages. You will help translate design concepts into coordinated, practical and enduring built outcomes across a diverse range of landscape architecture and urban design projects.

About the Role

This role has a strong focus on technical landscape design, documentation and project delivery. You will work closely with project leaders and design teams to develop concepts into detailed, coordinated and construction-ready documentation.

Senior candidates may also take responsibility for leading projects and documentation teams, managing project finances and programs, preparing proposals, and supporting broader studio management and business development activities.

About You

You are a technically capable landscape architect who is passionate about great design and enjoys working through the detail of how landscapes are designed, documented and built. You can balance design intent with constructability, coordination, compliance, maintenance and budget requirements.

You will be capable of:

Preparing and coordinating landscape documentation packages from design development through to tender and construction.

Developing landscape details, material selections, planting plans, schedules and specifications.

Resolving levels, interfaces, accessibility, drainage, soil, irrigation and other technical requirements in collaboration with relevant consultants.

Reviewing architectural, civil, structural and services information to identify coordination issues.

Responding to RFIs, reviewing shop drawings and supporting projects through tender and construction.

Supporting and mentoring less-experienced team members in technical design and documentation.

Building productive relationships with clients, consultants, contractors and suppliers.

Contributing to the advancement of the landscape architecture and urban design professions.

Delivering design excellence across all project outcomes.

AILA registration or eligibility for registration is desirable, particularly for senior applicants.

The level of project leadership, team management, mentoring and commercial responsibility associated with the role will be tailored to the successful candidate’s experience.
