We have a Team based at the BAE Systems yard in Henderson supporting the repairs and maintenance of Ships.

Job Summary

Mechanical preparation and application of industrial coatings in the marine environment.

Work by themselves or within a team

Perform tasks as instructed in a safety and quality conscious manner

Deliver tasks on Defence assets to exacting specifications

Understand surface preparation and finishes.

Be able to understand and complete works to specifications.

Be able to mix to correct ratio two-part paint coatings etc.

Select paints, varnishes and stains to various surfaces using brushes, sprays, and rollers.

Understand the use of Wet Film Thickness Gauges and be able to achieve specified dry film thickness.

Be able to work at heights and in confined spaces.

Erecting scaffolding and ladders.

Cleaning equipment and work areas.

Location: Henderson WA

Salary: Between $79,499 and $82,000 per annum + Super

Required Experience, Skills and Qualifications

Previous blasting and painting experience (minimum 5 years)

Experience in mixing and applying two-pack epoxy paints.

White Card CPCCWHS1001 / CPCCOHS1001A (Required)

Certificate 3 in Fabrication (surface preparation) (advantageous)

Current Working at Heights (Desired)

EWP Licence (Desired)

Normal hours are:

06:30 - 15.00 Monday to Thursday

06:30 – 12:30 Friday

Options of weekend overtime are available when requested by client
