My Australian Career A Landsdale-based structural, mechanical and fabrication services company, is seeking an experienced Carpenter to join its team on a full-time basis. Position Overview: The Carpenter will support workshop and on-site projects by constructing and installing formwork, timber structures, packing/crating and site fit-out works, working from engineering drawings and specifications alongside our fabrication, welding and mechanical trades to ensure all work meets quality, safety and compliance standards.

Work in a collaborative and dynamic team. Opportunity to work across a wide range of maintenance and construction projects. Task & responsibilities Interpret engineering drawings, plans and specifications to determine dimensions, materials and work sequence for formwork, jigs and timber structures.
Measure, cut, shape and join timber and formwork using hand and power tools to support structural and mechanical fabrication projects. Construct, erect and install formwork, timber frameworks, platforms, hoardings and site fit-out components at the workshop and on client sites. Build timber packing, crating and blocking for the safe transport and dispatch of fabricated steel and mechanical equipment.
Repair and maintain workshop fixtures, benches, site sheds and timber structures, replacing damaged components as required. Ensure all carpentry work complies with engineering drawings, quality standards and WHS/safety regulations. Work alongside boilermakers, fitters, welders and other trades to sequence work and meet project and dispatch timelines.
Maintain tools and equipment, and ensure a safe and tidy workshop and site environment. Qualification & experience Certificate III in Carpentry, or equivalent trade qualification Trade licence/registration where required (e.g. relevant state building authority) preferred. Proven experience as a Carpenter, ideally within a WA-based fabrication, engineering, construction or industrial environment.
Sound knowledge of carpentry methods, materials, formwork, tools and safety practices. Ability to read and work from engineering and construction drawings and specifications. Current White Card (construction induction) and own hand tools.
Strong communication, time-management and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-trade team across workshop and site-based projects.
