Roof Plumber

Penrose Roofing The Roof Plumber is responsible for the installation, maintenance and repair of metal roofing, wall cladding, flashings and rainwater goods, including gutters and downpipes. The role requires the ability to interpret architectural drawings and specifications, measure, fabricate and install roofing and rainwater components to a weatherproof standard, and inspect, maintain and repair existing roof plumbing Benefits Task & responsibilities Job Duties Study architectural drawings, plans and specifications to determine roofing, cladding and rainwater system requirements for each project.

Measure, mark out, cut, bend and fabricate metal roof sheeting, wall cladding, flashings, box gutters, valleys and other rainwater goods using hand tools, power tools, folders and guillotines. Install metal roofing and associated wall cladding systems in accordance with plans, manufacturer specifications and required weatherproofing standards. Install and fit flashings around roof penetrations, chimneys, skylights, parapets and roof junctions to prevent water ingress.

Install and connect gutters, downpipes, box gutters and other rainwater goods, ensuring correct falls, alignment and drainage capacity. Inspect existing roofing, cladding and rainwater systems to identify leaks, corrosion, storm damage or general wear. Repair or replace damaged roof sheeting, flashings, guttering and downpipes.

Select roofing and cladding materials, including Colorbond, Zincalume, galvanised steel and copper, appropriate to the project, environment and applicable building requirements. Apply sealants, protective coatings and corrosion treatments to roofing, flashing and rainwater components as required. Liaise on-site with builders, site supervisors, engineers and other trades to coordinate roof plumbing works within the broader construction program.

Maintain accurate records of work completed, materials used and any variations to scope. Responsibilities Ensure all work is completed to the required quality, safety and industry standards. Follow workplace health and safety policies and procedures, particularly when working at heights.

Maintain tools, equipment and work areas in a clean, safe and serviceable condition. Work effectively with supervisors, builders, subcontractors and other trades to complete projects on time. Qualification & experience Qualification, Skills and Experience Certificate III in Roofing (Roof Plumbing) or higher, or equivalent trade qualification Minimum of 1 year full-time equivalent experience as a Roof Plumber, with genuine hands-on responsibility for installation, maintenance and repair duties Demonstrated experience installing and repairing metal roofing, gutters, downpipes, flashings and associated rainwater systems Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, plans and specifications Proficient in measuring, cutting, bending and fabricating metal roofing, flashings and rainwater goods Competent in using hand tools, power tools and roofing/sheet-metal fabrication equipment Ability to work safely at heights and follow workplace health and safety requirements Good attention to detail and ability to identify and rectify defects, leaks and installation issues About Company Penrose Roofing Pty Ltd specializes in commercial roofing, cladding, new builds, re-roofs, and architectural metalwork.
