Landscape Gardener

Turf Town QLD Pty Ltd The Landscape Gardener is responsible for constructing, maintaining, and renovating landscaped areas, ensuring they are visually appealing, functional, and environmentally sustainable. This role involves installing and maintaining lawns, trees, plants, garden structures, and irrigation systems, as well as constructing landscape features such as pathways, retaining walls, and garden edging. The successful candidate will have expertise in horticulture, landscape construction techniques, and garden maintenance best practices.

Benefits Task & responsibilities DUTIES Prepare and improve soil conditions for planting, turf installation, and garden beds. Select, plant, and care for trees, shrubs, flowers, and other vegetation according to landscape designs. Lay and maintain natural turf, ensuring proper leveling, aeration, and drainage for healthy lawn growth.

Prune and shape trees, hedges, and plants to promote healthy growth and enhance aesthetics. Install, monitor, and maintain irrigation systems, ensuring proper water distribution for plants and lawns. Apply fertilizers, mulch, and pest control treatments to maintain plant health.

Construct and install landscape features such as pathways, retaining walls, garden edging, and decking. Use and maintain landscaping tools and equipment, including mowers, trimmers, blowers, and irrigation controllers. Conduct regular garden and landscape maintenance, including weeding, mowing, trimming, and soil conditioning.

Identify and treat plant diseases and pest infestations as required. Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations while carrying out landscaping projects. RESPONSIBILITIES Ensure all landscaping projects meet company standards and client expectations.

Work efficiently within allocated project timelines and budgets. Maintain a safe and clean work environment, following OH&S standards. Apply sustainable landscaping practices and water-efficient gardening techniques.

Communicate effectively with clients, supervisors, and team members. Keep detailed records of landscape maintenance schedules, plant care, and pest control treatments. Train and mentor junior staff and apprentices as required.

Qualification & experience QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS Certificate III in Landscape Construction, Horticulture, or equivalent (preferred). Minimum of one (1) year of experience in landscaping or garden maintenance. Strong knowledge of plant care, soil management, irrigation, and landscape construction.

Understanding of irrigation systems and their maintenance. Ability to operate and maintain landscaping tools and machinery. Physical fitness to perform manual labor and work in varying weather conditions.

Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and teamwork.
