ABOUT US
Brooke's Blooms is a Brisbane-based landscaping business servicing residential and commercial clients across the southern and western suburbs of Greater Brisbane, including Inala, Durack, Forest Lake, Richlands, Ellen Grove and surrounding areas. We design, build and establish outdoor spaces that our clients are proud of, and we are looking for a skilled Landscape Gardener to join our team on a permanent full-time basis as our Garden Maintenance Team Leader.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This is a hands-on position for someone who can take a landscape project from a bare site through to a finished, planted and established garden. You will work from concept plans and client briefs, prepare and shape sites, install the hard and soft elements of the design, and see the job through to handover. The role suits a tradesperson who takes pride in finish quality and can work independently on site.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Set out sites from landscape plans and client briefs, and prepare ground for new gardens — clearing, levelling, grading for fall and drainage, and conditioning or importing soil
Build the structural elements of a garden, including paved and gravel areas, edging, retaining structures, timber decking and screening, rock and water features
Select plant stock suited to the site's soil, aspect and climate, and carry out planting of trees, shrubs, hedging and garden beds, and lay or seed lawn areas
Install and commission irrigation and garden lighting, apply mulch and fertiliser, and carry out establishment care, pruning, shaping and pest, weed and plant health treatment
Operate and maintain landscaping plant and equipment, estimate and order materials, liaise with clients and other trades on site, and work in accordance with WHS requirements.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED
A relevant qualification in landscaping or horticulture (Certificate III or higher), OR at least 3 years of relevant full-time work experience as a landscape gardener
Demonstrated ability to read and work from landscape plans and specifications
Sound plant knowledge, particularly species suited to South East Queensland conditions
Practical competence across both hard and soft landscaping
Confident and safe operation of landscaping plant and equipment
Good communication skills and a professional manner with clients
Physically fit and able to undertake outdoor manual work in all weather
Current Australian driver's licence (manual C class minimum)
Chemical application licence (AQF3) and construction white card advantageous
WHAT WE OFFER
Permanent full-time position with full entitlements from day one
Salary of $70,000 – $100,000 plus superannuation, negotiable based on your skills and experience
Varied project work rather than repetitive maintenance rounds
All tools, equipment, PPE and uniforms supplied
Company vehicle and fuel card
Ongoing training and genuine scope to progress as the business grows
HOW TO APPLY
Apply with your resume and a short cover letter outlining your landscaping experience and qualifications.
