At Hera Engineering, we are looking for a full time at least 38 hours per week skilled Civil Engineer, Structural Engineer & Civil Engineering Technician to perform the following duties:

Civil Engineering Technician

Responsibilities

• Preparing, interpreting, and updating detailed civil and structural engineering drawings, layouts, and technical documentation for a range of development and construction projects.

• Coordinating site measurements, engineering data, and material specifications to ensure projects are delivered in accordance with approved plans and technical requirements.

• Monitoring construction activities and conducting site inspections to verify workmanship, structural integrity, and compliance with engineering standards and project specifications.

• Analysing project information, calculations, and design details to identify potential construction issues and recommend practical engineering solutions.

• Managing project documentation, engineering records, technical reports, and revision schedules to maintain accurate and up-to-date project information.

• Liaising directly with builders, subcontractors, architects, surveyors, and consultants to coordinate project activities and resolve technical matters during construction phases.

• Assisting with the preparation of engineering costings, quantity estimates, procurement requirements, and project timelines to support operational efficiency.

• Reviewing construction materials, fabrication details, and installation methods to ensure compliance with Australian standards, safety requirements, and engineering specifications.

• Operating engineering and drafting software to develop plans, update project designs, and maintain technical accuracy across multiple projects simultaneously.

• Participating in project planning meetings and contributing technical input relating to construction methodologies, structural components, and site-related engineering matters.

Requirements

• Relevant qualification or 3 years of experience in lieu of the qualification

• The right candidate will have at least 1 year of experience

• A can-do attitude and ability of working independently.

Position: Full Time

Salary: $75,000- $100,000 per year

Civil Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Contribute to planning and progressing civil infrastructure projects from concept through to delivery, ensuring engineering principles are applied throughout.

• Prepare and review technical designs, specifications and engineering drawings to ensure project requirements are met efficiently and safely.

• Assess and select appropriate materials, construction techniques and quality standards to support successful project execution.

• Coordinate with internal teams, external consultants and contractors to schedule and sequence site activities for smooth project flow.

• Estimate project costs and contribute to budget planning, monitoring variations and advising on cost impacts during delivery.

• Conduct or review site investigations and engineering assessments (e.g., soil/ground conditions) to inform design decisions.

• Monitor changes to design or scope, assess impacts on project outcomes, and recommend adjustments to maintain objectives.

• Evaluate structural behaviour and performance to ensure designs meet safety, compliance and durability requirements.

• Support development of transport and infrastructure solutions by analysing current and future usage trends and planning accordingly.

• Contribute to risk assessments and ensure engineering activities comply with relevant regulatory, safety and environmental standards.

Structural Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Develops safe and efficient structural concepts for buildings, civil works, and industrial installations.

• Performs detailed calculations to verify load capacity, stability, and performance of structural components.

• Creates engineering sketches, drawings, and digital models to communicate design intent.

• Works closely with architects and other engineering disciplines to integrate structural solutions into overall project design.

• Reviews material specifications and selects appropriate structural materials for durability and cost efficiency.

• Evaluates construction methods and provides guidance to ensure designs can be built as intended.

• Assesses potential structural risks and proposes mitigation strategies during design and construction stages.

• Conducts site inspections to check compliance with approved engineering plans.

• Prepares technical reports summarizing findings, design decisions, and recommended actions.

• Supports project managers with engineering input for schedules, budgets, and contractor coordination.

• Investigates structural issues in existing assets and develops practical repair or strengthening options.
