The Team

The George Town District Hospital and Community Services provide 15 acute care beds, physiotherapy, dental and podiatry services, and other visiting providers. Other services provided by the Hospital include Palliative care, Community Nursing, Home Help-Personal Care.

The Role

George Town Hospital & Community Centre is seeking a friendly and organised Administrative Assistant to provide reception, clerical and secretarial support across the service. This varied role supports the Director of Nursing, Nurse Unit Manager, staff, patients and visitors, helping ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the facility. Responsibilities include reception and telephone enquiries, appointment coordination, patient administration, meeting support, record management and general office administration. The position offers a supportive team environment and may particularly suit someone seeking a small, flexible workload alongside university studies, family commitments or semi-retirement.

Details of appointment

Fixed term casual, day worker position, commencing as soon as possible until 26 September 2028.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary

$43.38 to $46.59 per hour. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2025.
