Job description:

The Statewide Supply team manages supply of consumables and equipment across the Department of Health with a focus on medical supplies and consumables. The team plays a crucial role in delivering continuous improvement in processes and building positive relationships with suppliers and clinical areas to deliver high-quality outcomes for stakeholders.

The Team

The Statewide Supply team manages supply of consumables and equipment across the Department of Health with a focus on medical supplies and consumables. The team plays a crucial role in delivering continuous improvement in processes and building positive relationships with suppliers and clinical areas to deliver high-quality outcomes for stakeholders.

The Role

The Manager Statewide Supply will:

Provide high-level leadership in the development and implementation of Tasmanian Health Service (THS) procurement strategies, projects and plans in collaboration with the procurement team.

Provide high-level leadership, expertise, strategic advice and support on supply chain issues across the THS.

Manage THS core supply functions, including materials management, purchasing, warehousing and distribution, receiving and stores facilities including, third-party logistics and fourth-party logistics functions.

Manage, plan, motivate and develop the statewide supply team to be proactive, efficient and effective in the support of service delivery.

You will need

Extensive experience in developing and implementing a strategic procurement and supply program, systems and technology

Extensive knowledge of and demonstrated experience in high-level project management, change management and leadership, including the ability to initiate, formulate and manage complex and diverse projects.

Details of appointment

Permanent, full time, day worker position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Salary

General Stream Band 8

$144,169 to $153,844 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2025

Eligibility

Tertiary qualifications in business, supply chain or another relevant discipline, together with membership of, or progression towards membership of the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply
