Computer Engineer

Commtech Services Pty Ltd Role Overview : We are seeking a skilled and analytical Computer Engineer to join our growing team in New South Wales. The successful candidate will be responsible for analysing, configuring, integrating, testing, monitoring and maintaining computer systems and network infrastructure that support telecommunications operations. The role requires a strong understanding of both computer-based systems and telecommunications environments, with a focus on improving system performance, reliability and operational efficiency Key Responsibilities: Analysing operational and technical requirements and preparing computer systems and network specifications; Configuring, testing, monitoring and maintaining computer systems used to support telecommunications infrastructure; Developing and implementing automated processes for fault analysis, record validation and technical reporting; Analysing operational data received from HFC network elements, computer-based monitoring platforms and approved testing devices; Diagnosing and rectifying system faults, configuration issues and data inconsistencies; Supporting the integration of network systems, field-testing tools, monitoring platforms and asset databases; Assisting with the configuration, testing, monitoring and maintenance of the NBN ONFA rack, drawing upon his previous experience working with this equipment; Supporting fault identification, equipment commissioning, system upgrades and equipment migrations associated with the NBN ONFA rack; Preparing technical documentation, test results, configuration records and systems records; and Recommending improvements to computer systems, network infrastructure and operational processes.

Requirements : Relevant qualification in computer engineering, information technology, network engineering or a related field Demonstrated experience in configuring, testing, monitoring and maintaining computer and network systems Experience supporting systems used in telecommunications, network operations or infrastructure environments Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to diagnose faults and recommend effective technical solutions Knowledge of telecommunications-related systems and infrastructure, including HFC, fibre, CMTS, RF or optical equipment, will be highly regarded Experience with automation, system reporting, record validation or technical data analysis will be advantageous Ability to interpret technical requirements and translate them into system configurations and operational improvements Strong communication and documentation skills Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team Commitment to safety, quality and continuous improvement What We Offer: Full-time, permanent position Competitive salary plus superannuation Opportunity to work on essential telecommunications infrastructure projects Supportive and inclusive team culture Ongoing training and development opportunities Opportunity to contribute to system improvement and innovation in a growing business How to Apply: Please send your resume and a cover letter detailing your suitability for the role About Company Commtech Services is a leading provider of telecommunication infrastructure solutions across New South Wales.
