The Cyber Security Engineer, a hands-on technical role, is a member of the Infrastructure & Security Team and works closely with the other members of the broader Business Solutions Group to support implementation of a comprehensive network and security controls.
In this role you will also:
Work with various business units and with other risk functions to identify security requirements, using methods that may include risk and business impact assessments.
System security administration, gap analysis, security controls design and implementation
Support information security initiatives which include large-scale transformational projects, such as upgrading and hardening legacy operating systems and web applications using industry best practices.
Perform vulnerability scanning, assessment, and prioritisation of remediation requirements for endpoints, servers, and network devices.
Translate solution designs into technical specifications and implementation steps as per the business requirements.
Perform analysis on security architecture and make recommendations for system and security enhancements.
Troubleshoot and resolve performance issues related to information security controls.
Critically analyse and interpret security policies and ISMS requirements and proactively recommend improvements to enhance security posture.

What We're Looking For
Degree in information technology or equivalent work experience. (Security focused certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CISSP, Security+, is preferred).
Excellent conceptual ability, skills in analysis and problem solving.
Previous experience in network or systems engineer roles in complex technology environments
Experience in Network & Systems Security (Firewalls, VPNs, IDS-IPS, Anti-Malware), SIEM, Active Directory, Access Control, O365 & Azure, OS hardening, vulnerability scanning and patching, CASB and cloud security.
Knowledge and experience in working with IT security policies and procedures aligned with regulatory standards and frameworks such as ISO 27001 or equivalent.
Essential Requirements
Proof of COVID-19 vaccination status (or as required by legislation and WMQ policy)
Relevant probity checks required by legislation and WMQ Limited policy.
Current Driver's Licence and willingness to travel for work
