What You'll be doing

The position will provide cardiac device implantation within the cardiac catheter laboratories. The position will be responsible for the running of the pacemaker clinic and remote monitoring service, in addition to clinical management and treatment of patients under your care in a South West Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) facility or service. This care will be provided within the clinical privileges granted by the CE on the advice of the SWSLHD Medical and Dental Appointments Advisory Committee.

How to Apply

1. Current medical practitioner, registered, or eligible for registration, with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellow of the FRACP and-or other specialist recognition (Cardiology) as provided under the Health Insurance Act 1973.

2. A completed fellowship in device implantation in Electrophysiology and proven experience in cardiac device implantation (left bundle pacemaker implantation would be an advantage), postoperative management and ongoing clinical review of device programming and trouble shooting. Experience in the supervision of a Pacemaker Clinic and remote monitoring.

3. Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.

4. Demonstrated participation in teaching and training at undergraduate and-or post graduate level, including supervision of junior medical staff.

5. Demonstrated commitment to continuing self-education and development, including evidence of participation in continuing medical education- continuing professional development.

6. Demonstrated ability to comply with the service objectives of a public health organisation, including the provision of services to the local community, effective utilisation of resources, and preparedness to participate in the provision of health services at an LHD level.

7. Preparedness to participate in a hospital, service or LHD on-call roster.

8. Evidence of ability to work cooperatively with other staff and practitioners and in a multidisciplinary health care team.
