Stitch Coffee Fish Market is located within the Sydney Fish Market in Glebe, NSW. The store operates in a busy retail environment and provides customers with specialty coffee, beverages and a selection of Stitch Coffee retail products while maintaining high standards of product quality, customer service and store presentation.

Role

Stitch Coffee Fish Market is looking for an experienced Retail Manager (General) to organise and oversee the day-to-day operations of the store.

The Retail Manager will be responsible for managing the overall retail operations of the store, including staff supervision, stock and inventory control, sales performance, customer service standards, product presentation and financial transactions.

Applicants must have strong leadership, organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure in a busy retail environment while maintaining Stitch Coffee's operational and customer service standards.

Responsibilities and duties

Determine product mix, stock levels and customer service standards;

Formulate and implement purchasing and marketing strategies and assist with setting prices;

Monitor stock levels and coordinate the purchasing and ordering of products and supplies;

Promote and advertise the store's goods and services;

Oversee the sale of goods and services and provide customers with advice regarding products;

Maintain records of stock levels and financial transactions;

Undertake budgeting for the store and monitor revenue and expenditure;

Control the selection, training and supervision of retail staff;

Prepare and manage staff rosters to ensure appropriate staffing levels throughout trading periods;

Monitor staff performance and maintain high standards of customer service;

Oversee inventory control, product displays and merchandising;

Respond to customer enquiries, feedback and complaints where required;

Ensure the store is maintained to a high standard of presentation and cleanliness;

Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety requirements.

Skills and Qualifications

AQF Associate Degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma in a relevant field (ANZSCO Skill Level 2);

At least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications;

In some instances, relevant experience and/or on-the-job training may be required in addition to the formal qualification;

Relevant experience in retail management or a similar managerial position;

Strong leadership, organisational and communication skills;

Experience in managing, training and supervising staff;

Experience in stock control, purchasing and inventory management;

Ability to monitor sales, budgets, revenue and expenditure;

Strong customer service skills and the ability to maintain high service standards;

Sound knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements;

Ability to work effectively under pressure in a busy, fast-paced retail environment.

Salary: $80,000 - $90,000
