Sydney Fish Market is one of the largest seafood markets in the Southern Hemisphere and a renowned Sydney destination, attracting both local and international visitors. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Cook to join our high-performing culinary team.
The Role
Prepare and cook high-quality meals in accordance with menu specifications and food safety standards.
Manage a designated kitchen section to ensure efficient and timely service.
Assist in maintaining exceptional food quality and presentation standards.
Support, train and mentor junior kitchen team members.
Maintain a clean, safe and hygienic kitchen environment at all times.
Receive, check and correctly store food supplies and kitchen stock.
Organise and maintain storage areas, cool rooms, fridges and freezers in line with food safety requirements.
Follow all workplace policies, procedures and WHS regulations.
Work across a rotating roster including weekends, public holidays and early morning shifts as required.
About You
Demonstrated understanding of food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen while maintaining high standards of food quality and presentation.
Well-organised with the ability to multitask, prioritise duties and meet service deadlines.
Positive attitude with a willingness to learn, develop skills and contribute to a collaborative workplace culture.
Reliable, adaptable and committed to supporting continuous improvement and operational excellence.
Previous experience in a high-volume hospitality, tourism, events or restaurant environment will be highly regarded.
Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including weekends, public holidays and early mornings.
