Horse Trainer

Fernie Racing Pty Ltd is a respected name in the Australian racing industry, known for developing competitive thoroughbreds and maintaining the highest standards of horse care and performance are seeking a dedicated Horse Trainer to join our team in Perth, WA

Key Responsibilities

- Evaluate horses’ physical condition and temperament to determine training needs.

- Develop and implement training programs to improve horses’ performance and behavior, reporting on progress.

- Educate horses to obey verbal and non-verbal commands.

- Train horses to accept riders, pull vehicles, and perform in competitions and races.

- Provide care and maintenance, including feeding, grooming, and basic medical attention.

- Assist with breeding and foaling processes when required.

Qualifications & Experience

- AQF Certificate III with at least two years of on-the-job training, or AQF Certificate IV.

- Alternatively, a minimum of three years’ relevant horse training experience.

- Strong knowledge of horse behavior, conditioning, and welfare practices.

- Registration or licensing may be required.

- Proven ability to train horses for competitive racing.

- Excellent communication and observation skills.

- Commitment to animal welfare and safety standards.

- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a racing stable.

Salary range is $75,000-$95,000pa commensurate with experience
