Our client, NORWEST, is a growing Civil Construction & Logistics Company based in the Karratha and Wickham area of Western Australia. They are currently seeking qualified and experienced Earthmoving Plant Operators (General) with strong civil construction and earthmoving experience to join their growing team.

About the Role
As an Earthmoving Plant Operator (General), you will be responsible for the safe and efficient preparation and operation of a range of earthmoving plant and equipment across civil construction and earthworks operations.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, position and conduct pre-start checks on earthmoving plant and equipment prior to operation.
Operate a range of mobile and earthmoving plant, including loaders, graders, excavators and skid steers.
Select, attach, change and remove appropriate equipment attachments, including buckets, loading scoops, shovel blades, winches and other specialised attachments as required.
Operate plant to excavate, level, compact, move, load and spread earth, rock, rubble, soil and other construction materials.
Undertake civil construction, bulk earthworks and material handling activities in accordance with project requirements.
Carry out final trim and levelling work where required.
Operate plant controls and adjust operating settings to maintain appropriate speed, pressure and performance according to the work being undertaken.
Safely raise, lower and manoeuvre attachments using manual and hydraulic controls.
Work from construction drawings, site markers, plans and verbal instructions to achieve required levels, grades and project specifications.
Monitor plant operation and surrounding work areas to ensure the safety of other workers, vehicles and equipment.
Conduct routine inspections and identify faults, damage or maintenance requirements.
Perform basic servicing, including lubricating, cleaning and refuelling plant and equipment.
Carry out minor adjustments and basic repairs where appropriately qualified and required.
Report mechanical faults, safety issues and maintenance requirements to supervisors.
Complete all paperwork, pre-start records and operational documentation accurately.
Maintain plant, equipment and work areas in a safe, clean and orderly condition.
Liaise professionally with long-established customers when required.
Follow all workplace health and safety procedures, environmental requirements and site-specific controls.
Assist with general civil construction and earthworks activities as required.
Work effectively with supervisors, operators and other team members.
Perform overtime when required to meet operational and project requirements.
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Relevant mobile plant operator tickets and/or nationally recognised competencies.
Demonstrated experience operating earthmoving and mobile plant in civil construction or earthworks.
Experience operating loaders, graders, excavators and skid steers.
Experience carrying out earthmoving, excavation, levelling, loading and material-spreading activities.
Final trim and grading experience is highly desirable.
Ability to interpret and work from drawings, markers, plans and verbal instructions.
Sound understanding of safe plant operation and workplace safety requirements.
Ability to conduct routine plant checks and identify operational or mechanical issues.
Basic ability to undertake plant servicing, lubrication, cleaning and minor adjustments.
Current HR Driver's Licence is preferred.
Strong organisational and time-management skills.
Ability to complete paperwork and operational documentation accurately.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Reliable, positive and professional attitude.
Willingness to operate different types of earthmoving equipment as required.
Flexibility and availability to perform overtime when required.
Essential Requirements
Relevant plant operation tickets/licences or nationally recognised competencies.
Demonstrated experience operating earthmoving/mobile plant.
Ability to safely operate plant and attachments in a civil construction environment.
Ability to meet workplace and site safety requirements.
Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical.
Ability to successfully complete a drug and alcohol screen.
