Shop n Save Food Bazaar is seeking an experienced and motivated Retail Manager to manage and oversee the day-to-day operations of our retail store in Alice Springs, NT.

We are looking for a capable retail professional with strong leadership, stock management, purchasing, budgeting and customer service skills who can contribute to the efficient and successful operation of the business.

About the Role

The successful applicant will be responsible for overseeing daily store operations, managing staff, maintaining appropriate stock levels, implementing purchasing and marketing strategies, monitoring financial transactions and ensuring high standards of customer service and workplace safety.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Determining the appropriate product mix, stock levels and customer service standards for the retail establishment.

• Formulating and implementing purchasing and marketing policies and establishing appropriate product pricing.

• Promoting and advertising the establishment’s goods and services to increase customer awareness and sales.

• Selling goods and services to customers and providing advice regarding product selection and use.

• Maintaining accurate records of stock levels, sales and financial transactions.

• Preparing and managing budgets for the retail establishment.

• Managing the selection, training, supervision and performance of retail staff.

• Ensuring compliance with applicable occupational health and safety regulations.

• Monitoring stock availability and arranging replenishment where required.

• Overseeing the overall presentation, organisation and efficient operation of the store.

• Maintaining high standards of customer service and responding appropriately to customer enquiries and concerns.

• Monitoring business performance and assisting with strategies to improve sales and operational efficiency.

Skills and Experience

The successful applicant should have:

• Relevant 1 year experience working in retail management or a similar supervisory retail position.

• Experience managing stock levels, purchasing and product pricing.

• Knowledge of retail marketing and promotional activities.

• Experience supervising, training and coordinating staff.

• Sound knowledge of budgeting and financial transaction record keeping.

• Strong customer service and communication skills.

• Good leadership and staff-management abilities.

• Strong organisational and time-management skills.

• Ability to work effectively in a busy retail environment.

• Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements.

• Good problem-solving and decision-making skills
