We are looking for a Cook who understands Indian cuisine, especially South Indian and has ability to cook dishes blending traditional cuisine with contemporary foods. This position is available at our both Clayton and Burwood locations. You should be able to work in both the locations.

Benefits Salary range: $80,000 - $90,000 per Annum + Superannuation. Task & responsibilities Prepare and cook menu items in accordance with the restaurant's recipes and standards. Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner and meets quality standards.

Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding chutneys, sambar, curry and presentation specifications set by the restaurant. Maintain a clean and organized workstation. Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines.

Assist in the preparation of ingredients and other kitchen tasks as needed. Collaborate with the culinary team to create new menu items and specials. Monitor inventory levels and communicate with the kitchen manager regarding supply needs.

Assist with receiving deliveries and proper storage of products. To comply with the health and safety regulations to maintain a safe and secure environment. Qualification & experience Ideally, you’ll have a formal qualification and one year experience or 3 years of commercial experience are required.

Knowledge of South Indian cuisine and cooking techniques are essential as ours is an Indian Restaurant. Experience in commercial kitchen and ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handling pressure is essential. Knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures.

Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to follow instructions and take direction from senior kitchen staff.

Familiarity with sanitation regulations and food safety standards. Ability to follow recipes and presentation specifications. Strong knife skills and proficiency in using kitchen equipment.

Applicants must have full Australian work rights. Australian Citizens or Permanent Residents are preferred.
