PHARMACIST/INTER PHARMACIST

Key Responsibilities- PHARMACIST

Dispense and supply prescription and non-prescription medicines accurately and safely.

Review prescriptions for appropriateness, interactions, contraindications, and dosing issues.

Provide patients with clear advice on medicines, including dosage, administration, precautions, and potential side effects.

Conduct medication reviews and support medication management services where appropriately qualified.

Provide health advice and recommend appropriate over-the-counter treatments.

Maintain accurate patient medication records and pharmacy documentation.

Liaise with doctors and other healthcare professionals regarding patient medication needs.

Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, professional standards, and pharmacy procedures.

Maintain appropriate storage, handling, and security of medicines, including controlled medicines.

Participate in vaccination and other clinical services where authorised and appropriately trained.

Supervise and support pharmacy assistants and intern pharmacists where applicable.

Assist with stock management, ordering, inventory control, and expiry-date monitoring.

Maintain a clean, organised, and professional pharmacy environment.

Protect patient confidentiality and maintain high standards of privacy.

Participate in quality improvement, professional development, and pharmacy training activities.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

Bachelor of Pharmacy or equivalent recognised qualification.

Current pharmacist registration with the relevant regulatory authority.

Strong knowledge of medicines and pharmacy practice.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Commitment to patient safety and professional ethics.

Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities- INTERN PHARMACIST

Assist with dispensing and supplying medicines under appropriate supervision.

Receive and process prescriptions accurately.

Assist pharmacists with prescription assessment and medication-related queries.

Provide patients with appropriate information and counselling under supervision.

Learn and apply relevant pharmacy legislation, professional standards, and workplace procedures.

Assist with medication management and clinical pharmacy services as directed by the supervising pharmacist.

Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.

Assist with stock ordering, receiving, storage, and inventory management.

Monitor medicine expiry dates and maintain appropriate storage conditions.

Develop effective communication skills with patients, pharmacists, doctors, and other healthcare professionals.

Maintain patient confidentiality and professional boundaries.

Participate in training, education, competency assessments, and professional development activities.

Seek guidance from the supervising pharmacist whenever required.

Follow workplace health, safety, infection-control, and quality-assurance procedures.

Contribute to a safe, respectful, and patient-centred pharmacy environment.
