Fire Systems Technician – Fire Alarm Panels and Programming

Fire Patrol Group is seeking an experienced Fire Systems Technician to install, test, diagnose and maintain fire detection, alarm and control systems across multiple client sites from Newcastle to Wollongong, New South Wales.

This is a Permanent position working 40 hours per week. Travel between client sites will be required.

Key Responsibilities

Diagnose and rectify faults in fire alarm panels, fan controls and associated interfaces.

Identify and correct panel configuration and programming errors.

Program, commission, test and maintain fire detection and alarm systems.

Test system inputs, outputs, cause-and-effect functions and building services interfaces.

Perform preventative and corrective maintenance across multiple sites.

Interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, specifications and system documentation.

Prepare accurate service reports and maintain appropriate testing and maintenance records.

Ensure all work complies with applicable Australian Standards, work health and safety requirements and site procedures.

Liaise professionally with clients, contractors and other technicians.

Skills and Experience

Applicants must have:

Demonstrated experience programming and fault-finding fire alarm panel systems.

Experience diagnosing faults in fan controls and related fire system interfaces.

Sound knowledge of fire detection and alarm systems.

The ability to identify panel programming and configuration errors.

The ability to work independently across multiple sites.

Strong technical problem-solving and communication skills.

A current Australian driver licence or the ability to obtain one before commencing work.

[Relevant trade qualification, licence or certification, if required].

Experience with Protec, Fusion or Siemens fire panels is desirable but not essential. Training on these panel systems will be provided to a suitably experienced applicant.

Salary: $85000 to $120000 per annum, plus superannuation

Proposed commencement date: Immediate start
