MOTOR MECHANIC

CAPITAL MOTORS (WA) PTY LTD As a Motor Mechanic at Capital Motors WA, you will play an important role in maintaining the mechanical condition, safety and reliability of vehicles within our dealership. You will work with a range of petrol and diesel passenger and light vehicles, carrying out inspections, servicing, fault diagnosis, repairs and preventative maintenance. Benefits $80,000 + superannuation salary package.

Task & responsibilities Inspect vehicles to identify mechanical faults and determine required repairs. Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults using appropriate diagnostic equipment. Service and maintain petrol and diesel engines and vehicle systems.

Carry out scheduled servicing, including oil, filter and fluid changes. Inspect, repair and replace components including brakes, suspension, steering and driveline systems. Remove, dismantle, inspect and repair engines, transmissions and other mechanical components.

Replace worn, damaged or defective mechanical parts. Reassemble engines, transmissions and other vehicle components following repairs. Test and adjust repaired components to ensure correct operation and performance.

Use vehicle diagnostic computers and testing equipment to identify faults. Inspect vehicles for safety, roadworthiness and general mechanical condition. Complete pre-sale mechanical inspections and identify repairs or maintenance required.

Maintain accurate service and repair records. Follow manufacturer service manuals, specifications and workshop procedures. Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop environment.

Ensure all work is completed to a high standard and within required timeframes. Work cooperatively with management and other dealership staff to ensure vehicles are prepared to a high standard. Qualification & experience Certificate III or Certificate IV in Automotive / Motor Vehicle Technology or a related automotive qualification.

Minimum 1 year of relevant post-qualification experience as a Motor Mechanic. Sound knowledge of mechanical systems in passenger and light motor vehicles. Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical faults.

Experience using automotive diagnostic equipment. Ability to read and follow technical and manufacturer specifications. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.

Good problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.

Relevant Australian licences or registrations where required.
