Agricultural and Horticultural Mobile Plant Operator

Oldfield Farms is looking for full-time permanent Agricultural and Horticultural Mobile Plant Operator to join their team on a full-time basis at least 38 hours per week.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Prepare, position, and operate agricultural and horticultural mobile plant and machinery, including tractors, loaders, harvesters, sprayers, mowers, and other specialised equipment.

• Operate tractor-drawn and self-propelled machinery to undertake agricultural and horticultural activities, including soil preparation, planting, cultivation, fertilising, spraying, harvesting, mowing, and material handling.

• Select, attach, and adjust implements and attachments, including machine speed, height, depth, and operating settings, to suit specific tasks and optimise performance.

• Conduct routine inspections, cleaning, lubrication, servicing, and basic maintenance of mobile plant and associated equipment.

• Identify mechanical faults and perform minor repairs and adjustments within the operator's competency, reporting major faults or maintenance requirements to the appropriate supervisor.

• Maintain accurate records of machinery operation, maintenance activities, equipment faults, hours worked, and tasks completed.

• Operate mobile plant in accordance with workplace health and safety procedures, manufacturer requirements, and relevant environmental regulations.

• Coordinate with farm or horticultural managers, supervisors, contractors, and other team members to complete scheduled work safely and efficiently.

Requirements:

• At least 2 years of relevant experience.

• Good time management skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure and meet operational schedules.

• Basic mechanical skills to undertake routine maintenance, servicing, adjustments, and minor repairs to machinery.

• Good teamwork and communication skills to coordinate effectively with farm managers, supervisors, contractors, and other staff.

Salary offered: $70,000 - $90,000

Type of Contract: Full time, at least 38 hours/week.
