Deli Assistant - Supermarket

Position Purpose: To provide fresh and high-quality food and/or take away options for customers, managing deli displays and customer service.

Hours: Shifts are either morning (6.30am - 2.00pm) or evenings (2.00pm - 8.00pm) weekdays and weekends

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

• Fresh food preparation: salads, sandwiches, soups, take away meals etc

• Contributing to the ongoing menu and rotation of food options

• Food Safety and Handling and Food Preparation qualifications essential.

• Maintain clean, orderly, and properly stocked deli display units, coolers, work areas and storage areas

• Controlling shrinkage by ensuring stock is rotated correctly and stock is unpacked and handled according to Company procedures

• Serving Customers on a daily basis in accordance with all Company policies and procedures to ensure their needs and expectations are met

• Maintaining a clean deli

• Maintaining Store security standards by following all Company policy and procedures relating to Customer Service security

• Compliance with all company policies and procedures to ensure the health and safety of self and other team members and visitors

Essential

• Food Safety and Handling certificate

Desirable

• Food preparation, menu development experience

• familiar with IGA deli ideal

• experience in grocery retail
