Our Client

Cuballing Farms Pty Ltd, operating under the name Cuballing Pork, is seeking an experienced Pig Farmer to join its commercial pig farming operation. The successful candidate will be responsible for breeding, raising, and managing pigs for meat production, with a strong focus on animal health, welfare, breeding, and herd productivity.

The role requires demonstrated experience in pig breeding, artificial insemination, farrowing, animal care, and livestock management. The successful candidate will work closely with veterinarians, animal nutritionists, and feed representatives to maintain the health and productivity of the herd.

Key Responsibilities

* Breeding and raising pigs using artificial insemination, natural mating, and other related techniques.

* Managing mating, dry sow, pregnancy, and farrowing activities.

* Caring for sows and piglets and assisting with challenging births.

* Feeding pigs and ensuring adequate hydration and appropriate nutrition.

* Monitoring animal health and administering medication and treatments as required.

* Maintaining accurate breeding, mating, health, and livestock records.

* Managing the farrowing house and ensuring appropriate animal welfare standards are maintained.

* Maintaining farm facilities, including fences, equipment, water systems, ventilation, and temperature controls.

* Managing waste and maintaining clean and hygienic livestock areas.

* Handling and transporting livestock as required.

* Assisting with the buying and selling of livestock.

* Working with veterinarians, nutritionists, and feed representatives to support herd health and production.

* Following farm biosecurity, animal welfare, quality assurance, and workplace health and safety procedures.

Essential Requirements

* Bachelor's degree or higher in Agriculture, Animal Science, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, or a related field.

* Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in pig farming.

* Proven experience with artificial insemination and pig breeding.

* Demonstrated ability to independently manage a farrowing house.

* Experience in livestock health, husbandry, and welfare.

* Experience complying with animal welfare and quality assurance requirements.

* Current driver's licence.

* Willingness to work weekends and outside standard hours when required.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience

Experience in a commercial piggery or intensive livestock production environment.

Knowledge of pig nutrition and feeding programs.

Experience working with veterinarians, animal nutritionists, and feed suppliers.

Knowledge of farm biosecurity and quality assurance systems.

General farm maintenance and equipment-handling experience.
