ST JOHN'S PARK BOWLING CLUB LTD, trading as Tuncurry Beach Bowling Club, is seeking experienced and motivated Chefs and Cooks to join the kitchen team at its busy venue in Tuncurry, NSW.

ABOUT US

Tuncurry Beach Bowling Club is a well-established community, dining and entertainment venue located in the coastal town of Tuncurry, NSW. The Club provides a range of facilities and services for members, local residents and visitors, including dining, bars, entertainment, functions and bowling facilities.

With a large and diverse membership base and a strong focus on providing quality food and hospitality experiences, Tuncurry Beach Bowling Club offers a busy and dynamic working environment for hospitality professionals.

We are looking for passionate and experienced chefs and cooks who can contribute to the efficient operation of our kitchen and consistently deliver high-quality meals to our members and guests.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

To be considered for the role, you need to have a relevant industry qualification and at least 2-3 years' experience in a similar position.

Successful applicants will be expected to:

-Prepare, cook and present high-quality dishes in accordance with established recipes and standards.

-Demonstrate excellent food preparation, cooking and plating skills.

-Maintain a strong focus on the quality, consistency and presentation of dishes.

-Assist with menu planning and the development of seasonal menu offerings.

-Estimate food requirements and assist with food cost control.

-Order and manage food supplies and kitchen stock.

-Monitor stock levels and assist in minimising food wastage.

-Work effectively with the kitchen and management teams to ensure efficient food preparation and service.

-Maintain appropriate portion control and presentation standards.

-Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.

-Maintain a clean, organised and hygienic kitchen and food preparation environment.

-Handle high-volume service periods efficiently while maintaining food quality.

-Communicate effectively with front-of-house staff regarding customer requirements, dietary requirements and special requests.

-Assist with the training and development of junior kitchen staff.

-Contribute to effective kitchen operations, teamwork and service delivery.

-Assist with staff rostering and labour cost control where required.

-Demonstrate knowledge and awareness of current food trends, ingredients and cooking techniques.

FOR CHEF POSITIONS

In addition to the above, successful chef applicants will be expected to:

-Contribute to menu planning and the development of new dishes.

-Estimate food and labour costs and assist with kitchen cost control.

-Monitor the quality of dishes throughout preparation and presentation.

-Provide guidance and training to junior kitchen staff on cooking techniques and kitchen procedures.

-Assist with the selection, training and supervision of kitchen staff.

-Support the management team in maintaining efficient kitchen operations.

YOU MUST BE

-Available to work nights, weekends and public/school holiday periods as required.

-Able to work effectively in a busy, high-volume kitchen environment.

-Able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
