Classification: Level 1 – Labourer

Casual Hourly Rate: $33.14 per hour, inclusive of applicable industry allowance and 25% casual loading, plus overtime, penalty rates and other applicable allowances in accordance with the Award.

Superannuation: Paid in accordance with legislative requirements.

About the Role

We are seeking 10 reliable and hardworking Labourers to join our client's brick and paving manufacturing operation in Northern Tasmania for a 9-month assignment commencing in December 2026.

This is a hands-on labouring position supporting the production, handling, movement and storage of bricks, pavers and associated products.

The work will include both indoor factory duties and outdoor yard-based work. The role is physically demanding and involves repetitive manual handling, standing for extended periods and working as part of a busy production team.

Key Duties

Duties will include:

General labouring within the brick and paving manufacturing facility

Stacking and palletising bricks, pavers and finished products

Sorting and handling finished products

Loading and unloading materials and products

Moving products within designated production and yard areas

Assisting production employees as directed

Conducting basic visual quality checks

Removing damaged or unsuitable products from production areas

Preparing products for storage and dispatch

General manual handling duties

Cleaning work areas and maintaining good housekeeping standards

Working in indoor production areas and outdoor yard areas

Following instructions from supervisors and team leaders

Complying with workplace health and safety requirements and safe work procedures

About You

To be successful in these positions, you will demonstrate:

A strong work ethic and reliable attendance

Good physical fitness and ability to undertake repetitive manual work

Ability to safely undertake the inherent physical requirements of the position

Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods

Willingness to work both indoors and outdoors

Ability to follow instructions and safe work procedures

Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Positive attitude and willingness to learn

Availability to work Monday to Friday and occasional Saturdays when required

Commitment to completing the 9-month assignment

Experience & Requirements

Previous experience in labouring, manufacturing, construction, warehousing, production or similar physically demanding work would be advantageous but is not essential.

On-the-job training and workplace induction will be provided.

Applicants must:

Be willing to undertake a pre-employment medical assessment where required

Be willing to undertake drug and alcohol screening where required

Be able to safely perform repetitive manual handling duties

Comply with all workplace health and safety policies and procedures

Hold appropriate Australian work rights for the duration of the assignment

A current driver's licence and reliable transport are desirable due to limited public transport in the area.

What We Offer

$33.14 per hour casual
