Placed.au is looking for a full-time Carpenter for our client in Moorabbin, Victoria. This role is responsible for undertaking carpentry work across residential homes and commercial properties, ensuring quality workmanship and compliance with relevant building standards.

Job Description

-Inspect residential homes and commercial properties to identify areas requiring carpentry work and conduct relevant repairs or maintenance as necessary.

-Review drawings and blueprints to determine the scope of works, materials required and installation approach.

-Select, order and procure appropriate materials and tools required to undertake work.

-Cut, shape and prepare timber and assemble wood to form structures.

-Assemble, construct and fit wooden frameworks and structures including walls, floors, roofs, cabinetry, doors and window frames.

-Assemble and install prefabricated structures.

-Lay out floorings and decking ensuring they are levelled.

-Install and repair trim, mouldings, skirtings and other decorative wooden elements.

-Fit and install interior and exterior wall cladding when required.

-Use an assortment of hand and power tools in a safe and proficient manner.

-Inspect structures, verifying their accuracy and trueness.

-Ensure all completed work meets relevant building codes, safety regulations and quality standards.

-Adhere to project timelines and deadlines, effectively managing time and resources.

Qualifications / Attributes

-Must hold a minimum Certificate III in Carpentry, or at least three (3) years of relevant work experience may substitute for the formal qualification.

-Must possess at least three (3) years of relevant work experience in carpentry.

-Excellent communication and comprehension skills, with the ability to understand customer requirements and execute them accordingly.

-Ability to work well both within a team and autonomously to complete works.

-Ability to oversee work completed by subcontractors and ensure a high-quality finish.

-Ability to interpret drawings and blueprints and determine appropriate materials and installation approaches.

-Proficient and safe use of a range of hand and power tools.

-Strong understanding of relevant building codes, safety regulations and quality standards.

-Ability to effectively manage time, resources, project timelines and deadlines.

Salary Range

$80,000 – $95,000 per annum excluding superannuation.
