Australian Fibre & Wireless Pty Ltd-Telecommunications Technical Officer-RBS Installation, Integration & Commissioning

This is a Telecommunications Technical Officer role involving installation, relocation, and removal of telecommunications cabling and tower-mounted equipment. You will work at heights on poles, towers, and masts to install antennas, feeders, and ancillary equipment, and work on major telecommunications projects with industry-leading companies across Queensland, New South Wales, and Northern Territory.

Key responsibilities

Installation, relocation, and removal of telecommunications cabling and tower-mounted equipment

Work at heights on poles, towers, and masts to install antennas, feeders, and ancillary equipment

Erection and fixing of steel structures for telecommunications installations

Termination and testing of telecommunications cables

Use of cranes, cherry pickers, and MEWPs as required

Erect and dismantle barricades and exclusion zones for safety compliance

Conduct site inductions and maintain job site documentation, including JSEA, SWMS, and safety checklists

Apply risk management and safety procedures on every job site

Maintain relevant industry qualifications and comply with company policies and procedures

About you

Minimum 2 years' experience in the telecommunications rigging industry

Strong experience with Telstra, Vodafone, and Optus equipment

Ability to interpret technical design documents and install equipment as per design

Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work efficiently within a team

Good communication skills and ability to assist on-site teams as needed

High Risk Work License (DG & RB)

Australian Driver's License

White Card (Construction Card)

Telstra, Optus, and Vodafone Safety Inductions

RADHAZ Awareness

Working at Heights & Tower Rescue Certification

First Aid & CPR Certification

Salary - $36.00 - $46.00 per hour
