Network Engineer - FIFO

6-Month Contract | 4:3 Roster | Site-Based Role | WA Gold Mining Operation Your new company Hays Technology is partnering with a leading mining operation to recruit an experienced Operational Technology Network Engineer for an initial 6-month contract. Based on site on a 4:3 roster, this role will play a key part in supporting, optimising, and enhancing critical OT network infrastructure across a complex mining environment. Your new role This is an excellent opportunity for an OT networking professional with strong industrial networking experience who enjoys working in hands-on operational environments and supporting business-critical systems. Key Responsibilities

Scope, design, document, and implement network and firewall modifications.

Configure and support network hardware and user equipment (UE).

Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex network incidents and technical issues.

Conduct audits of network topologies, device configurations, and IP address registers.

Develop and maintain network diagrams, technical documentation, work instructions, and procedures.

Provide equipment estimates and technical input into future infrastructure planning and budgeting.

Ensure all changes are completed in line with site governance, change management, and operational standards.

What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate experience across a range of OT and industrial networking technologies, including:

Industrial wireless networking solutions such as Cisco, Motorola, and Moxa.

Private LTE networks and associated user equipment.

Industrial routing and switching platforms including Cisco, Moxa, Hirschmann, and Allen-Bradley.

Microwave back haul technologies, including Aviat and Ubiquiti.

Point-to-Multipoint wireless systems including Cambium and Ubiquiti.

Optical fibre networking and Ethernet-over-Coax infrastructure.

Strong experience supporting OT environments within mining, resources, or heavy industry sectors.

Highly Regarded

Previous experience working within underground mining environments.

Exposure to SCADA systems and industrial control networks.

Knowledge of OT cybersecurity principles and operational technology best practices.
