Work location: residential project sites across Brisbane and surrounding areas.

HEPH PTY LTD carries out residential construction and renovation work across Brisbane and surrounding areas. Our carpentry work includes timber framing, alterations to existing homes, structural repairs, flooring, stairs and internal fit-outs.

Carpenter

Permanent, full-time employment, 38 hours per week

Salary

$85,000 to $95,000 per annum plus superannuation.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Read plans and check measurements on site before setting out carpentry work.

• Set out and build timber wall, floor and ceiling frames and partitions for residential construction and renovation projects.

• Measure, cut and assemble timber, plywood and other building materials using hand and power tools.

• Fit doors, windows, stairs, handrails and balustrades to the project plans.

• Install timber flooring, skirting, architraves, internal linings, cladding and other timber fixtures and fittings.

• Carry out carpentry alterations and repairs to existing homes, including structural timber repairs and fixing defects.

• Check existing timber structures for damage or deterioration and complete repairs within the agreed scope of work.

• Work out material quantities, plan daily tasks and coordinate with supervisors, suppliers and other trades to keep work on schedule.

• Complete work to the approved plans, applicable building standards and manufacturer instructions, and follow site safety procedures.

• Look after tools and equipment and leave the work area clean and safe.

Qualifications and Experience

• Certificate III in Carpentry, or an equivalent recognised trade qualification.

• At least two years of relevant carpentry experience, preferably in residential construction and renovation.

• Experience with timber framing, repairs and alterations, flooring, stairs and internal fix-out work.

• A valid General Construction Induction Card (White Card), or the ability to obtain one before commencing work.

• Ability to reliably travel to project sites across Brisbane and surrounding areas.

• Read drawings and take accurate site measurements.

• Use carpentry tools safely and select suitable materials and fixing methods for the job.

• Produce neat, accurate work and check the finished result.

• Identify carpentry defects and work out practical repairs.

• Work independently on assigned tasks and alongside other trades.

• Organise daily work and communicate clearly about progress, materials and site issues
