Exciting opportunity for a Qualified Pastry Chef or Baker to join a wholesale bakery team

• Full time, 4 days Monday to Friday plus one weekend day with 3pm starts

• Immediate start

Wage: $55,000 - $80,000 plus super

dependent on experience / skills / qualifications / shift times

Freshly baked artisan sourdough breads, heavenly banana bread, magnificent muffins, light buttery croissants, creamy baked cheesecakes, delicious donuts, tarts, protein balls, biscuits, slices... anything bakery related!

About the role:

· Control ovens and bake-off sough dough breads, pastry lines, croissants, and sweet loaves such as heavily fruited breads, banana bread & muffins, pastries and cakes.

· Organise prooving and baking timelines, and sole baking sour dough bread and sweet doughs in a modern gas-fired deck oven, and 30 tray rack ovens, again gas-fired.

· Able to cover the other roles in the team, mixing, hand moulding, etc.

· Follow a high level of food safety and quality standards

· A two-man team operates 4 x 30 tray rack ovens and 1 x 6 deck stone slab, gas fired oven. You will be working in a solid baking team producing products that are delivered fresh each evening

Successful candidates will have:

• Minimum five years experience in a similar wholesale ovens role

• A baking or pastry qualification

• A passion for baking

• Reliable, with a “can do attitude”

• Self-motivated with the ability to work in a team and alone

• Knowledge of allergen management and HACCP procedures

• A commitment to quality, consistency and excellence of product

• Good level of physical fitness, able to lift 25 kg
