Laschon Events Pty Ltd Job Description: Structural Steel Erector Location: Cowaramup, WA, 6284 Employer: LASCHON EVENTS PTY LTD T/as LASCHON EVENTS Employment: Full-time (38 hours per week), Permanent Salary: $71,500 p.a - $78,500 p.a+ superannuation Position Summary The Structural Steel Erector is responsible for erecting and dismantling temporary structural steel components for marquee systems used for weddings, corporate functions and private events.

The role involves interpreting installation plans, assembling and positioning structural steel components, operating lifting and rigging equipment, installing bracing and anchoring systems, and verifying that completed structures are correctly aligned, securely connected and structurally stable. Benefits Competitive annual salary plus superannuation payments Full-time, permanent position Task & responsibilities Role Responsibilities include: Interpret site plans, event layouts, installation instructions and manufacturer specifications for marquee structures comprising steel framing members and other associated structural components.

Set out installation areas and prepare steel structural components according to the required marquee size, configuration and site conditions. Erect and dismantle temporary marquees for weddings, corporate functions and private events. Assemble, lift and position columns, beams, roof members, bays, braces and other structural components used in large marquee systems.

Extend portal framed marquees by installing additional structural bays according to event capacity and layout requirements. Align, fit and secure structural components using bolts, pins, clamps, brackets and other specified fastening systems. Install steel bracing, supports, base plates, anchoring systems, guy ropes and tensioning equipment to maintain structural stability.

Attach slinging gear to steel components and lifting equipment using appropriate methods. Set up and use winches, hoisting and rigging equipment to raise and position steel beams, columns, roof sections and other structural units. Guide and control steel components while they are lifted and positioned during the erection and dismantling process.

Check the line, level, alignment, connections and stability of erected structures against installation plans and manufacturer requirements. Install framework and supporting components for marquee walls, interior draping, lighting and associated event infrastructure where required. Install temporary guardrails, safety lines and other fall-protection systems required during structural erection and dismantling.

Inspect structural members, fasteners, lifting gear, bracing and anchoring systems before and during installation, identifying damaged or unsuitable components. Adapt erection methods and sequencing to accommodate different event sites, ground conditions, access restrictions and customised marquee configurations. Dismantle marquee structures following events by safely lowering, disconnecting and separating structural components in the required sequence.

Sort, inspect and prepare dismantled steel components for transport, storage, maintenance and reuse at subsequent events. Follow working-at-heights, lifting, rigging, manual-handling and site-safety procedures throughout event installation and pack-down activities Skills and Competencies: Ability to interpret structural installation plans, site layouts and manufacturer specifications. Knowledge of structural steel erection and dismantling methods.

Ability to assemble, align, position and secure steel columns, beams, braces, portal frames and roof components. Competence in setting up and using winches, hoists, slinging gear and rigging equipment. Knowledge of bolts, pins, clamps, brackets, anchors, guy ropes and other structural connection systems.

Ability to check structural line, level, alignment, connections and stability. Ability to identify damaged or unsuitable structural components, fasteners and lifting equipment. Understanding of safe lifting, working-at-heights, fall-protection and manual-handling procedures.

Ability to adapt installation methods to different site conditions and structural configurations. Strong spatial awareness, attention to detail and ability to work safely as part of an installation team.
