Sourcify Pty Ltd As an Accountant (General) Key Responsibilities: Prepare financial statements and supporting accounting reports for clients in accordance with applicable accounting standards and reporting requirements. Prepare income tax returns, Business Activity Statements (BAS), and other statutory compliance lodgements for clients. Review and analyse financial information to ensure accuracy, completeness and compliance with relevant accounting standards, taxation legislation and regulatory requirements.
Monitor financial records and accounting systems and assist in maintaining appropriate accounting and record-keeping practices for clients. Undertake payroll-related accounting activities and ensure compliance with superannuation, payroll taxation and related legislative requirements. Perform account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to maintain the integrity and reliability of financial information.
Assist in preparing management reports and financial analyses to support reporting requirements and business decision-making. Provide accounting information and guidance to clients regarding financial reporting, taxation and compliance matters. Liaise with clients, the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), ASIC and other stakeholders regarding accounting and taxation matters.
Utilise accounting software including Xero and Microsoft Excel to maintain accounting information and prepare financial reports. Undertake associated professional accounting duties required to support financial reporting, taxation compliance and client service functions. Requirements: Australian Citizens and Permanent Residents are encouraged to apply.
Bachelor's degree or higher qualification in Accounting, Commerce, Finance or related field. Minimum 1-2 years experience in accounting, taxation, financial reporting or related professional accounting services. Knowledge of Australian taxation and accounting requirements.
Experience preparing financial statements, tax returns and compliance reports. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience with Xero and Microsoft Excel.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
