What We are Looking For

We are seeking an Early Childhood Teacher to join our team at Gladesville NSW 2111. We are looking for a qualified and passionate professional who is committed to delivering high-quality early childhood education, fostering children's learning and development, and building strong relationships with families and colleagues through warmth, professionalism, and collaboration.

Duties and Responsibilities

As an Early Childhood Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating educational programs that promote the intellectual, social, emotional, physical, and creative development of children.

Early Childhood Teachers play a key role in creating an engaging, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment where children are encouraged to develop confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of learning.

The main tasks of an Early Childhood Teacher include, but are not limited to:

• Develop, implement, and evaluate developmentally appropriate educational programs that support children's cognitive, physical, emotional, social, and creative development.

• Observe, assess, and document children's learning, development, and wellbeing, using this information to plan individualised learning experiences.

• Foster children's language, literacy, numeracy, creativity, problem-solving skills, and social development through intentional teaching and play-based learning.

• Establish and maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that supports children's wellbeing and encourages exploration and independence.

• Monitor children's developmental progress, identify additional learning or developmental needs where appropriate, and collaborate with families and relevant professionals to support positive outcomes.

• Build strong partnerships with parents and families by communicating regularly regarding children's progress, achievements, and developmental goals.

• Guide, mentor and support Educators and Child Care Workers in the implementation of educational programs and best practice in early childhood education.

• Ensure compliance with the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations, National Quality Standards, child protection requirements, and all centre policies and procedures.

• Participate in curriculum planning, reflective practice, quality improvement initiatives, staff meetings, and ongoing professional development to enhance educational outcomes across the centre.

Skills Required

• Sound understanding of child development and play-based learning approaches.

• Familiarity with relevant legislation, including the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations.

• Ability to design, implement and evaluate educational programs that support children's holistic development.

• Strong observation, assessment, and documentation skills.

• Excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship-building skills with children, families, and colleagues.

• Demonstrated leadership, mentoring and teamwork abilities.

• Strong organisational and time management skills with attention to detail.

• Passionate about early childhood education and committed to continuous professional development and best practice.

Education and Previous Experience Required

• Tertiary education in the Education field.

• At least 1 year of full-time working experience in the same field or co-related field.

• Current Working with Children Check (or equivalent).

• First Aid certification.

• Evidence of COVID-19 vaccination (if required by legislation or the centre).

Working Arrangements

• Work Type: Full-time & Permanent

• Working hours: 38 hours per week

• Shifts: From Mondays to Fridays, 7:20am to 6pm

• Salary: $75,127.52 per year plus superannuation
