Lanscape/property maintenance team lead
About this job
Lead Landscaper
High-end residential & commercial landscapes | Full-time | Brisbane & surrounds
About the role
Hands-on leadership role delivering premium landscape construction and finishing. You run the job on site, set the standard of workmanship, talk clearly with clients and the office, and take a small crew with you.
Quality-first work — planting, hardscape, edges, mulch, paving support, presentation-ready finishes — not volume mowing. Strong preference for someone who already owns core tools (or will kit up) and has their own ute.
What you will do
Lead day-to-day delivery on high-end residential (and selected commercial) projects
Plan the day, allocate tasks, keep a small team productive and safe
Install planting, beds, edging, mulch, feature plants and finishing details to a premium standard
Support hardscape: paving prep, stepping stones, edges, minor concrete as required
Protect existing gardens and property; leave sites clean every day
Communicate professionally with clients on site
Liaise with the office on scope, materials, photos, variations and next-day planning
Own quality: levels, lines, plant placement, soil and finish before you leave
Follow WHS (White Card, tool/plant safety, site induction)
Help train and set the standard for junior crew
What we need
Proven landscaping experience — ideally high-end residential or boutique commercial, not just labour or mowing
Ability to lead a small team: instructions, pace, quality, accountability
Strong communication — polite with clients, clear with crew, reliable with the office
Own core tools, or a genuine willingness to purchase a professional kit soon after starting
Own registered and insured ute strongly preferred
Current QLD C-class licence (manual preferred)
White Card
Reliable, presentable, punctual — you will be on private properties
Fit for full days in SEQ conditions
Right to work in Australia
Highly regarded
Paving, stone, steel/timber edging, irrigation basics, or decorative concrete
Strong plant knowledge
Reading simple plans and setting out beds/levels
Plant tickets (skid steer, mini excavator) or willingness to get them
Previous work for landscape construction companies, designers, or high-net-worth residential clients
Tools and vehicle
Suits someone who operates like a tradesperson. Own or buy a kit such as:
Hand tools: shovels, forks, rakes, barrow, levels, string line, tape, knives, pruners, loppers
Relevant power tools
PPE
Ute with racks/tray for tools, plants and small materials (rego + comprehensive insurance if used on jobs)
A tool/vehicle allowance can be discussed for the right person kitting up to standard.
Include a short note covering:
Years and type of landscaping experience
Whether you lead or have led a crew
Tools you already own
Ute (make/year is enough) and current licence
A few photos of recent work if you have them
